Zen and the philosophy of success…

There will be many a instance in life, when you will be told (or will know) what your future is going to be… There are instances when you will know (or will be told) that your efforts would be futile… and your future is going to be “what it is meant to be”.

“Knowing your future” should not weaken you, or your efforts at achieving something. Knowing what is in store for you should strengthen your resolve to change “what is written”. You should take the situation as a challenge and say: “I am trying to change my destiny. God be with me!” (The latter part of the statement applies only IF you belong in God!)

This is what the Bhagawat Gita is all about too.. Krishna telling Arjuna about Karma: You should always go ahead and ensure that you do your bit… Do your karma, and not think about the benefits.

You sow the seeds… and you shall reap the benefits (when God so wills / or the time is right).

But if you decide, “anyway it’s gonna be a drought, so let me not sow the seeds. It is not going to help in anyways”–when God decides to help your cause by sending in the rains (or the government decides to play God and goes in for some “cloud seeding”)–No seeds would be sown… and it will be really futile to cry!

This seems to be the philosophy of life… Never accept defeat. Decide what you want to be… what you want to achieve… And work towards achieving that. No matter what others say… No matter what anybody says. And success will be yours. You will have written your own destiny.

Take on the world.. Change the world to suit your needs … Do not change to suit the needs of the world…

On every day, at every moment, there comes a time when you need to take a stand. A time to say: “Well. If this is what is supposed to happen, I don’t agree… And I will change that.”

Use the world to your ends… As far as you are sure… Nothing anybody else thinks matters…

You need to be a leader… Never forget that… Don’t be a passive follower… We have too many people like that in the world…
